First Place recipe for SRR's Brownies Bake-off, may 12, 2011
½ cup butter
2 – 1 oz squares of Ghiardelli unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ cup sifted all-purpose flour
½ -3/4 cup chopped walnuts chocolate chips
½ -3/4 cup chocolate chips
In large saucepan melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Blend in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour, nuts, and chocolate chips; mix well. Spread in a greased 8x8x2 or 9x9x2 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Be careful not to over-bake. Cool. Cut into 16 squares.
(It is ok to double this recipe – just adjust the baking time.)
