In his first showing in 1999 at Khourys, Matt Corcoran cruised to a comfortable win at the April Fools Day running of Khourys with the fastest time of the year so far, 23:42. Second and third place finishers Phil Johnson and Don Berney weren't too shabby themselves, also coming in under the 24 minute mark. Erin Brown set the fastest woman's time of 1999 with 28:52 in her 1999 inaugural. So where the hell have you kids been hiding yourselves?
Correction: I'm told that Nancy Given and Katie Griffiths have run faster Khourys this year. Oops.
Correction to the Correction: As has Aileen Mason. Did I forget anyone else :-)
Most runners agreed that the April Fools Day charge put forth by Pres. Tom Hagerty of running the course backwards worked to everyone's advantage. Winter Hill must be a lot easier at the end rather than the beginning.
There was some controversy over Berney's finish as raised by Brian Poli and Michael Hume, but no one else voiced any concern and I was too thoroughly traumatized by Poli and Hume later recounting their wild night last Friday at some single's dance in the burbs to do anything about it.
