Ya gotta love Khourys sometimes. Where else will you find a race put on with more timers than runners?
Lionell cruises in at 25:21 with 2nd place Dave Farris eating his dust all the way. But wait! Jeff Townsend has a net time of 26:44, but a chip time of 24:04??? Lollygagging late-comers, be they Jeff, Jim Croke, or my own dear roommate Stephanie (you just know those damn cats of hers had something to do with it). Ok, so Jeff gets top nod in the Globe, but Lionel is still number one in our hearts, as well as in the prestigious Pulitzer Prize winning Khourys writeup.
Oh yeah, and rumor has it that women's open winner Aileen Mason PR'd big time. I *thought* she was quicker than usual, but attributed it to her just wanting to get the hell out of there.
