That's HEDLEY, dammit!Khourys 4.13 Miler: January 20 2000 |
A moment of silence, please.
A little longer...
I'd like to dedicate this running of Khoury's 4.13 Miler to the memory of Hedy Lamarr, who passed away earlier this week. Man, she was something, a Hollywood sex symbol, starring in such films as Comrade X, Algiers, Boomtown, and Sampson and Delilah. She also just happened to have some brains, too, being the inventor of "frequency hopping", a pre-cursor technology to modern cell phones, and it's still used in some military communications. What's this world coming to, anyway? First Gilda Radner leaves us, then Madalein Kahn, now dear sweet Hedy. You'll be sorely missed.
I clipped my toe nails today.
