The lead assailant sprayed his bullets throughout the room as if he were not sure of his target, a mistake for which he payed dearly, as Melanie's opening volley of gunfire instantly cut him down. The second assailant then drew a bead on Melanie, striking her in the shoulder and sending her flying back against the Ming vase. The remaining assailant then advanced on Maude, who was cowering behind the sofa.

"Give me the name of the cell leader, and I may spare your life." she demanded of Maude.

"I don't know. We never give our real names to each other" Maude replied in a frightened, but clearly defiant tone. The remaining assailant raised her AK-47 into position intending to open fire, but suddenly a JL-SB14 ninja throwing star whacked into the assailant's head with a sickening thud, felling her instantly. Maude turned to the direction of the kitchen, her mouth dropping open in shock. She had completely forgotten about Carl. They first checked on Melanie, and after being satisfied that she would live, turned their attention to the assailants. Carl unmasked the second.

"I don't recognize her" Carl said. "Wait, there's something..." A piece of paper was sticking out of a pocket. Maude opened it.

Kill them. Kill them all.

"HK??", Carl mused out loud.

"No doubt the initials of the evil mastermind behind this madness" Maude replied. "At least we know we've got their attention now. And they're frightened of us. By the way, did you make that Camomile?"
