September 7, 2000

Kudos to Nancy Macri for sweeping by the women's field on a gorgeous September night, a PR for her as she was being chased by Steve Burton. Yeah, I'd run far away from neon green shorts myself. A grand welcome back to Valerie Burgos, who chose her own very creative way to finish the course. Jim Sullivan, Mr. 70's Running Wear (and wrestling-fanatic) ran three laps and nevertheless finished a respectable 4th in the Men's Open. A warm Khoury's welcome to first-time runners Meredith and Sharon. How can Sharon not come back for more after hearing Brian Poli speaking of New Year's skinny-dipping?

And good luck to our overall winner, Jason Hewitt, who follows our trendsetting ex-presidente John Evans to the Great White North of Maine. Wonder if he'll start wearing running shorts in sub-zero weather, too.

See you next week, my darling buds of May.
