The April 5 meeting of SRR was called to order
by Tom Hagerty at 7:30pm, Khoury's (where else?).
16 members present.
Business discussed included:
-
Boston Marathon Numbers:
thank you letter to be written
to BAA by John Evans
-
BAA BM Jimmy Fund Walk:
part of the thank-you to BAA.
Need to get some volunteers to
help out with this. Tom getting
the contact info for this.
-
Co-Ventures, Inc: They
run the Tufts 10K, Corporate
Challenge. Dan to contact them.
This is a money-maker for the
club depending upon how many
volunteers we get. We set up
a waterstop I guess.
-
New Members Welcoming:
Tom has a template letter to be
sent out to new members.
-
USATF Championship Races:
next up is Bedford 12K in NH,
22 of May. Discussed having
team captains to take charge of
recruiting people. Steve Burton,
Aileen Mason, Nancy Givens
possible leads here.
-
Vermont City Marathon /
Relay: Just heard that
the relay closed, so we might
be out of luck here. I'm going
anyway.
-
Thursday Night Run Flyer
Distribution: We need to
do a better job making sure that
flyers are replenished at places
like Marathon Sports.
-
Outdoor Track: to
begin after Boston Marathon.
Concensus is for Tufts Track.
Probaby at 6:30.
-
Bulk Mail Permit: Aileen
Mason to pick up a permit.
Should save us big bucks.
Some discussion on how much to use
the internet, mailing lists.
-
Khoury's 20km: The date
used to be the 3rd Thursday,
but this would conflict with the
Bedford race in NH, so we moved
it back to the 2nd Thursday.
-
Fuhgedaboutit 7 Series:
First race is coming up, day
before Boston Marathon.
-
SRR vs. CSU softball game:
Glenn O'Connor handling this?
May is pretty busy, might get
moved back into June.
-
Clothing / Pen sales:
Should we give out new pens
to new people at Khoury's?
Talk about designing a new logo.
Current one has too many colors
to do for a reasonable price?
Ideas needed.
-
Purchasing Club items for
next year: Do we want to
buy ourselves a digital clock?
Some members reluctant on this.
Needs further thought.
-
Monthly Newsletter:
Dan Solomon to be the first
victem interviewed.
