So What Are We Now, A Freakin' Baking Society???

Actually, that idea isn't half bad.

The September 13 meeting of SRR was called to order by John Evans at 7:30pm, Khoury's (where else?).

Present members included:

Business discussed included:

  1. 24 Hour Relay Rehashed: a $1000 contribution was made to Wakefield Education Association. We probably want to push the club aspect a little more next year. Co-director and financial wizard Larry Horlick is off cavorting in France, so financial details are not forthcoming, but co-director Janie Ryder was happy with the end result, and Mike Bonnett is happy that Janie is happy. So everybody is happy.

  2. Gobble-Gobble-Gobble: A race committee has been formed, Bill Peregoy, Greg Hammond, Karin Turer, and Una Mckeever. Should take some of the load off of Greg M. Actually, we really need to have this done for all the races, as pointed out by Steve Burton. Like right now.

  3. BAA Jimmy Fund: Volunteers needed. Bill Peregoy is the man. The phone tree may be activated for this. October 17th is the date for the Race/Walk.

  4. SRR Uniforms: Talking to Marathon Sports about this. Articles must be ordered in multiples of 12.

  5. Indoor Track: Still waiting for all the information to be presented. Looks like it's either Tufts or BU.

  6. Double Die: Bill Peregoy and Karin Turer are taking point on this. All set to go on the 30th of September. 7:15 pm as usual.

  7. One of the better ideas put forth during the evening was by Greg Hammond. The club to possibly purchase a tent and to use it at maybe one or more targeted races a month. The purpose would be to establish more of an SRR presence. Karin says we could give away cookies... There are all sorts of puns that could be mentioned now, but I'll hold back.
