The February 7 meeting of SRR was called to order by John Evans at 7:35pm, Cambridge Brewing Company. Notes taken by Robin Shor. I was, uh, well, y'all saw the state I was in, I cannot testify as to the accuracy of these notes.

Everyone should remember to wear their Srr clothing to races. The race targeted for March was the Melrose law enforcement race. Karin will make more copies of Khoury's map and we will keep bringing them to races and events that we go to. We will have a water stop at the Marathon at the 30k and we will not run out of water this year. Doyle's was targeted for April as a high Srr visibility race, and we are doing a banner/table on the marathon course on March 5th, replete with water and Khoury's maps.
Chris Ahearn was sick and unable to attend. He is anticipating a workshop the day before the Summer Steamer; he will have details at next month's meeting.
Dick Duffy will head committee, Robin, Mike Bonnet, Karin, Bill, Larry, Dan, and Una will be on the committee.
We were considering getting onto the Runners World calender; Karin T. will find out the cost. Also Steve Burton mentioned that they have combo deals. Another possibility was getting into New England Runner. We fought about this but came to no conclusions. O.K. I lied. We decided to do an ad a month, 3 times, which would run for 6 months. 175.oo a pop. Dan moved, and it was seconded by Bill.
We some dough to spend; We are definitely giving the Somerville Auxiliary Police $1000. Dan attempted to explain to our uncomprehending minds, the concept of non-profit. We can't have any money, we have to show a loss. A Somerville scholarship fund idea was come up with. Giving a donation to Toys for tots, and Domestic violence. Dan and Larry are going to get together and figure this out, how to set up the scholarship fund and distribute the moneys. Karin will design new t-shirt and we will give them out to new members. Dan initiated the motion, Bill seconded it.
A painful conversation ensued, where John begged to stay on as president and said he would work until the wee hours of the morning at school. It was tearful as Dan explained to him that it would be impossible and that John should focus on his school work. Dan brought up the board concept, it was dropped.
Way too much drinking then ensued. This wasn't supposed to happen until next month...
