1) Louise Update — The legendary Louise Rossetti has been chosen to run a segment of the Olympic Torch Relay!
2) Gobble Report — Great success, over 800 runners. Ed O'Connor rules! For the future, we may want to invest in a large supply of pins.
3) Newsletter — Beatrice wants to amend application, so new members will be aware that they can get the newsletter on-line.
4) Bulk Mail — No, nothing to do with fat men. Should we attempt to distribute newsletter via bulk mail? It was decided against.
5) Charities — Right now, we are supporting the Little Flower School, Somerville Auxiliary Police, and the Somerville Track Pac. Trac-Pac is a good charity, as the Chairman of Trac-Pac is also responsible for giving out permits.... Considering a one-time donation to Project Soup - so moved. Also, a press release for the Somerville Journal is planned.
6) Fortitude Vincimus — This our proud motto. We are going to add it to our by-laws. (Editor's Note: The proper translation is "By endurance we conquer." Do not, repeat, do not listen to the Vice President when he complains that the statement is biased against speedwork. He's notoriously cranky.)
7) Holiday Party — Hurrah! Friday, January 25th, potluck dinner.
8) Track Meet — President Dan talked to Jack Conolly regarding permission to use the new Tufts track... It looks promising... Possibly Super Bowl Sunday... How are we going to get the word out?
9) Races of the Month:
10) Summer Steamer — We need to firm up the date (6/9 or 6/16?) and hopefully avoid going up against Bunkah Hill.
11) Club Treasury — We made money with the Gobble....hurrah....Are we purchasing a new tent???
12) Marathon Numbers — We're getting 10 this year! YES! 5 will be given according to merit, 5 by lottery. Let someone know if you are interested...
13) Plaque — To be dedicated at the Khoury's grand re-opening... We also want to do something for our gracious interim hosts at Casey's.
14) Annabelle — Special fun run, and discount at her wicked cool earthy shop.
Meeting adjourned around 8:00, as one of the Irish dancers came in and bit President Solomon on the nose... Considering making this a monthly feature.
