SRR Club Meeting April 4, 2005

SRR MONTHLY MEETING
April 4, 2005, 7 pm
At The Asgard, Cambridge, MA

1) Marathon Up-date
The bus needs to be in Hopkinton by 9:00 AM. So the bus will be leaving Wellington by 8:00 AM. 44 people have paid for a seat on the SRR Marathon bus. On marathon day, the club is sponsoring two hotel rooms; Caroline Ceailles will be "peopleing the rooms," and directing runners to which rooms we have reserved. The rooms are at the Boston Park Plaza. The rest of us will be cheering runners on at the official SRR waterstop. Bill Bryant and crew will be setting up the water stop at the 30k at the crack of dawn on Monday.

2) Special Ks:
Mike Greco has graciously offered to be the K's coordinator. Important dates coming up:

April 14 — the Official Pasta Run/Dinner at K's.

May 26 — Mr. Jim "I remember when..." Sullivan's "Old School Night."

June 23 — Aurelio Polci Memorial Run (Paul Clark and Jessica Zall are the race directors for this event.

June 30 — Louise Rossetti's 84th Birthday Run (Mike Greco is the RD)

3) Club Race Updates:

An Ras Mor: Paul Clark is working on getting more sponsorship for next year's event.

Summer Steamer: Kate Blumberg is the volunteer coordinator for this race.
There will be a 1/4 mile Kids Race this year.

Gobble Gobble Gobbler: Permit has been obtained.

4) Newsletter
Deadlines for material submitted need to be moved up so content is more timely.

5) Race Of The Month
Polls seem to be going well.

July 10: Khoury's Summer Steamer

6) Volunteer Coordinator
Kate Blumberg is the Official Volunteer Coordinator. She is currently looking for volunteers for:

Summer Steamer (July 10)

24 Hour Around the Lake (July 29/30)

Corporate Challenge (June 7)

and soon will be for:

Jimmy Fund Walk (September 18)
BAA Half Marathon (October 9)
Tufts 10K (october 10)

Aileen Bonilla will understudy with Amy Ahearn for the Gobble Gobble Gobble Volunteer Coordinator.
