SRR Club Meeting May 2, 2005

SRR MONTHLY MEETING
May 2, 2005, 7 pm
At The Asgard, Cambridge, MA

1) Marathon Wrap-up

The bus that we chartered broke even and was a big success. The hotel rooms in town were also a resounding success! The club wants to thank all who volunteered that day, especially Bill Bryant who did a phenomenal job with the SRR water stop and Caroline Ceailles who prepared everything at the hotel rooms in town.

2) Special Ks:
Mike Greco has graciously offered to be the K's coordinator. Important dates coming up:

May 26 — Jim Sullivan's "Old School Night" is all set; prizes will be awarded arbitrarily at the race director's whim.

June 23 — Aurelio Polci Memorial Run. Paul Clark and Jessica Zall are the race directors for this event.

June 30 — Louise Rossetti's 84th Birthday Run (Mike Greco is the RD)

(tentative) August 4 — Fundraiser for soldiers overseas in Iraq. Jessica Feldman gave a presentation; she will compile a list of items that the soldiers need. Cash donations will also be collected (and greatly appreciated)

3) Club Race Updates:

Summer Steamer (july 10): Sam Adams is the sponsor.
There will be a 1/4 mile Kids Race this year.
Still investigating adding some "extra curricular activities" on race day.

6) Volunteer Coordinator
Kate Blumberg is the Official Volunteer Coordinator. She is currently looking for volunteers for:

BAA Half Marathon (October 9)
Tufts 10K (october 10)
