SRR MONTHLY MEETING
October 2, 2006, 7 pm
@ The Burren, Somerville, MA

1. Uniforms

   Sarah Fisher and Jerome Lang distributed copies of current uniform inventory. Discussion on points and decisions made as follows:

   • Obsolete inventory (discontinued singlets) and items that are not selling will be used to give away at Winter Challenge, and for volunteer thank-you gifts.
   • They will be re-ordering only gold singlets until demand comes back for black ones.
   • Testing underway for more supportive sports bra style
   • Researching other uniform pieces: performance jacket, performance cap

2. Coach Updates

   • Joe O'Leary asked about An Ras Mor details - change of location, etc. Bill Bryant offered to e-mail Ahearns to inquire
   • Joe asked the board to confirm that the club will be covering Mill Cities Relay entry fees, board approved request.
   • Indoor track details are all set.

3. Holiday Party

   Date has been set for January 19th. Heather Hagerty is handling planning details, but was unable to attend the meeting. Heather needs club volunteers to assist in set-up, collection of entry fee, and clean-up.

4. Summer Steamer Update

   Robin was unable to attend, but sent e-mail update. After reviewing race details, motion made to the board to approve donation of $750 to RESPOND. (Post-meeting update: some race registrants had earmarked donations in the amount of $132 for RESPOND, this was added to the donation to total $882.)

5. Gobble Gobble Gobble Update

   Bill Bryant updated group on race details. Pre-reg. is ahead of schedule. Discussion led to following decisions:

   • There will be no awards ceremony after the race since admission to Burren is limited
   • Volunteers will be guaranteed admission to after-race party at the Burren to encourage volunteerism, and to be able to appropriately limit Burren crowding.

6. Memorial Bench for Steve Burton

   Mark Stern was unable to attend but sent an e-mail inquiry asking whether the Board wanted to support the Somerville Road Runners being listed as a sponsor on the bench to be installed on the bike path in honor of Coach Steve Burton. The Board and attendees unanimously agreed to the idea.
