Good race last Sunday for many SRR. Some PR's set and some USATF points scored. Our Mens Open Team finished 9th of 13 teams, our Mens Masters team scored 9th of 11 teams. Unfortunately we didn't have enough to women to field a team, I think the first USATF Grand Prix race this year we didn't have a women's team. But the two women who did run, Nancy Doherty and Tamara Toselli-Lovuolo did very well. Nancy was 25th in her age group and 27th women overall. Tamara was 39th in her age group and 47th woman overall. Considering well over 1,000 women ran and internationally ranked women runners were there (Uta Pippig-winner of many major marathons; Lyudmilla Petrova won NYC Marathon, Jane Ngotho, more...) that's pretty outstanding.
Frankie Keane was 5th in his age division (60+ Men) and picked up more individual USATF points to bring him into 3rd place overall in his age bracket for the series. If Frankie runs the last few races of the series he could possibly finish in the top 2 spots.
Bob Ross, Dave Farris, Dan Smith and Steve "High-Mileage" Burton posted PR's. Dan actually claims he
ran
his first mile at a PR pace for just one mile! possibly some others did
have 5K PR's also, let us know if you did!
