2017-18 SRR Elected Officer Candidates

Julie Holt

Candidate: Julie Holt
SRR member since: 2012
Statement: Since joining SRR in 2012, I have come to think of the club as my extended family. Being a part of this exceptional group has changed my life in so many ways. From the camaraderie of running Casey's in subzero wind chills to the adventure of traveling with a group to the Quebec City Marathon and everything in between, SRR has become a huge part of my life. SRR has helped me achieve things I never thought possible -- going from barely active to a multiple marathoner in just a few short years, and from feeling disconnected from any kind of community to fully engaged in one. It's hard to describe how much I love this club and how much it has changed my life for the better.

For this reason, it has been important to me to try and give back as much as I can by volunteering at our events, and more recently serving on the board. Serving as Marketing Coordinator for the past two years and Secretary for the last year has given me a chance to understand how our club functions, as well as see the many opportunities we have to serve our members and our community. If elected president, I'd be honored to uphold the many traditions we have established, maintain our service to our community, and continue to bring new ideas (hopefully from you all!) to foster our growth and camaraderie as a competitive and social running club.

  Vice President
Nichole Bukowski

Candidate:  Nichole Bukowski
SRR member since: 2013
Statement: I have been a member at large on the SRR board for the past 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in club leadership and decision making that impacts our running members and greater local community. I'm applying for the role of club VP in hopes of continuing my leadership influence in the club through a new lens. I'm a huge believer that the combination of movement and community bring about positive societal change - SRR makes this happen.

No Candidate Candidate: Stephanie Finnegan
SRR member since: 2005
Statement: As a Certified Public Accountant and auditor, I perform audits for not-for-profit organizations including bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, evaluating internal control procedures and filing federal and state tax returns. I think my knowledge and experience could benefit the run club. Also, I met my husband, Neil, in SRR nearly 10 years ago and I want to give back to the club ;)
Paola Massoli

Candidate:  Paola Massoli
SRR member since:  2012
Statement: I have been an SRR member since late 2012 (thanks to Tom Breider for dragging me to the Bur-run !!) and enjoyed it every step of the way. In the past five years I have volunteered with the SRR kids program, helped timing at Casey's, and cheered fellow runners on multiple occasions. I am also part of the Gobble^3 committee since 2015.

This year I am running to be a secretary. I see this as a great opportunity for me to step up and contribute to this wonderful club as much as I can !

Members-At-Large (two candidates - two positions available)
Nichole Bukowski

Candidate: Melissa Glotzbecker
SRR member since: 2013
Statement: I have been the volunteer coordinator for the past 2 years for SRR. I have genuinely enjoyed the opportunity to serve the club, get to know our members, and make connections with other organizations. I am interested in running for Member-at-Large in order to remain involved with SRR and continue to help our club make positive strides in our community. Outside of SRR, I have the opportunity to coach middle school and high school athletes in a local school district in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

Tom Breider Candidate:  Jason Lachapelle
SRR member since: 2006
Statement:  I enjoy working on the board with other members interested in keeping the club organized, and coming up with ways to keep our membership happy with fun events and perks. I've helped out as race committee member at various times on 3 of our annual races - the Gobble^3, 26x1, and Wintah Challenge - and plan to continue assisting the club with the Gobble^3 and 26x1 into the near future.

The club’s 2017 officer elections will take place at our Annual Meeting on Monday March 6th.
The elected officers will then appoint several additional positions critical to club leadership.
