Did you run competitively in high school? No
Did you run competitively in college? No
Total number races: 20
Favorite race (and why): Utica Boilermaker. It is by far the biggest thing going on in Utica, NY each year, which makes for Boston Marathon-like fan support. Plus it ends at a brewery with free beer, fireworks, and a F-16 flyover...
Favorite race distance: Half Marathon
Favorite runner: The Russian woman* who ran Boston a couple of years ago without lifting her hands above her waist, how can she run like that??? *[ed. — that was Sun Yingjie from China]
Favorite running shoe: New Balance 1220
Weekly mileage: 30 miles
Best running memory: 2003 Vermont City Marathon, a negative split marathon and PR!
Worst running memory: 1999 Fairfield Half Marathon. It was incredibly hot at the 8:30 AM start and the race course was hilly with little shade. I started feeling bad at mile 4 and it was all down hill from there. It was the worst I have ever felt for a prolonged period of time during a race.

Running PR's (when and where):
         Khourys: 29:24 (April 24, 2003)
4 mile: 34:44 (Norwood, MA Turkey Trot November 19, 2000)
5 mile: 40:37 (Irish Feet Are Running Lowell, MA March 12, 2000)
         10 mile: 1:23:29 (Foxboro Old Fashioned 10 Miler February 20, 2000)

Fill in the blank: I like it when a nice warm rain falls during a summer run. I hate it when that rain is accompanied by lightning and heavy winds.
Favorite quotes:
"Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither Liberty nor safety." — Benjamin Franklin
Philosophy:
Character is what you do when no one is looking.
