How long have you been running? 6 years
What made you decide to begin running? All of the good/bad things about college led to the Freshman/Sophomore 10 pounds.
Did you run competitively in high school? When my soccer coach sent us to run we would go around the corner and hideout at the local playground for 20 minutes.
Did you run competitively in college? No
When / why did you join SRR? November 2004. I had just moved to Boston and you guys have the best website. I liked being a DCRR (with Becky Wexler - see profile).
Total number races: A bunch each year
Favorite race (and why): DCRRC Tidal Basin 3K held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at noon. It's a free race held in all conditions (flooding, heat, cold, etc.) that involves runners on their lunch breaks sprinting like maniacs while dodging tourists and unnaturally low tree branches.
Favorite running shoe: Anything that fits my feet

Most MPW Ever: 35
Best running memory: On an "easy" run sprinting as fast as I could along a river in Italy so an Italian jogger wouldn't pass me. He was also going full steam to hold me off from passing him. We hit the end of the river, side-by-side, and he turned to me and said, "gratzi," the only Italian word I knew. I nodded at him in agreement and we silently went our separate ways.
Worst running memory: Running alone in snowy, icy, 15 degree conditions in the Allegheny Mountains. I questioned the wisdom of being out there in isolation many (many) times during those 12 miles. The next year my Dad ran with me and when he saw where I had been he couldn't believe he had let me out there alone.
