How long have you been running?
12 years.
What made you decide to begin running? Deciding to row and knowing that I was
not physically up to it.
Did you run competitively in high school? Of course.
Did you run competitively in college? Trail running only, not with the university.
When / why did you join SRR? They are always at the races, and I figured
it was the only way to take advantage of the booze tent.
Total number races: No idea.
Favorite race (and why): Anything in the woods.
Favorite race distance: Longer, not faster.
Favorite running shoe: Brooks Adreneline.
Average miles per week: 35-50
Most MPW Ever: I do not really count.
Best running memory: Most fall early mornings will do it for me.
Worst running memory: Running alone in Blue Hills on a 90+ day and running
into a pack of fighting dogs with their less-than savory looking owners,
then some leering, half naked "Good Ol' Boys" finishing off a case of Rolling Rock.
And me with no pepper spray.
Favorite time of day: Before dawn
Favorite sport other than running: Rowing, swimming or rock climbing.
Favorite musician: Led Zepplin, Greg Brown, Dave Alvin, Patty Larkin,
Patty Griffin, Third Eye Blind, Bush, Gillian Welsh and on, and on and on...
Favorite song: "Ramble On"
Favorite politician: Politics, despite what John Kerry thinks, do not mix
well with sports.
Favorite cereal: Post Harvest Great Grains
Favorite food: I am so picky that I annoy myself
Favorite ice cream: Changes constantly
Favorite cocktail: Scotch on the rocks (Glenkinchie or Dalwhinnie)
Favorite restaurant: Depends on the mood
Favorite car: Subaru Legacy Outback wagon
Fill in the blank: I like it when I am forced to research and puzzle things out.
I hate it when the obvious is stated.
Philosophy: It is not yours to take, but theirs to give
and
Your body will do whatever your mind tells it to do.
