How long have you been running? On and off for 16 years
What made you decide to begin running? 4 older brothers and sisters (I had to run for safety).
Did you run competitively in high school? Yes
Did you run competitively in college? Yes
Total number races: Too many to count
Favorite race (and why): Falmouth Road Race — the fans — the weather can be hot and humid or cold and wet yet they are still out there cheering like mad, handing out beers, donuts, oranges, water and spraying you with hoses, the course is beautiful, and I get to finish with a dip in the ocean.
Favorite runner: Bill Rodgers or Joan Benoit (Samuelson) — I remember these two as being like running gods/goddesses.
Favorite running shoe: Used to be Nike Air Pegasus, recently switched to Mizuno.
Best running memory: Cross-Country practice in High School, through a pouring rain storm, a lot of splashing and puddle jumping.
Worst running memory: My worst memories are the two times I had to stop while running. Once when running with my Uncle Damian, about 16 years ago we went on a 5-mile loop around this lake near my house. I only made it about 3 miles when I had to walk for a while. I have only had to stop one other time. The other time I stopped during a cross-country race in college. Some bizarre side stitch — I was having the best race all season, and I had to stop. I never raced again that season.

Running PR's (when and where):
         Khourys: 26:01
         10K: I can't remember
5 mile: 27:52 (5 mile cross country course, somewhere near Washington DC)
         20K: 1:24:16 (Oct. 2000 in Houston)

Favorite sport other than running: soccer
Favorite author: Pynchon, Dellilo, or Kundera (sorry I like to read, too hard to pick one)
Favorite book: The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Favorite movie: Donnie Darko
Favorite musician: Currently Mike Scott
Favorite song: "Fisherman's Blues"
Favorite politician: Can you really like a politician?
Favorite cereal: Frosted Mini-Wheats
Favorite food: Ravioli w/homemade tomato sauce
Favorite ice cream: Daiquiri Ice
Favorite cocktail: Jameson on ice
Fill in the blank: I like it when I feel better as the run progresses. I hate it when I feel out of shape.
Favorite quotes:
"Go out hard, pick it up in the middle, and finish strong." — Lorin Maloney(my high school coach)

Philosophy: Enjoy at your own pace.

Other: I find the hardest part about running these days is staying focused and motivated to run every day. The SRR helps give me definite times that I 'have' to run every week. I appreciate that.
