How long have you been running? About 20 years with some interruptions.
What made you decide to begin running? Realized other kids were getting bigger than me so collision sports would not be a good idea.
Did you run competitively in high school? Yes.
Did you run competitively in college? No.
When / why did you join SRR? July 2004 / Found the web site (nice), did some of the runs (nicer), met some of the members (nicest of all).
Total number races: About 50, not counting HS meets.
Favorite race (and why): Mill Cities Relay. A fairly short but fun relay event.
Favorite race distance: Used to be 5K, but now it’s half-marathon; you have time to get in gear, and then cruise.

Average miles per week: 20-25.
Most MPW Ever: No idea, probably 50.
Best running memory: During one HS cross-country season, I had been training well but racing poorly. Just before the next race, the coach told me to stop worrying about the race and to relax and enjoy the scenery. I took his advice and just had fun, and I ran almost a minute faster than I had all season.
Worst running memory: One time when I was running in the winter, it was so cold that the sweat froze inside my gloves. Or at least that’s how I remember it.
