How long have you been running? On and off for about 12 years, but recently since March.
What made you decide to begin running? I was too uncoordinated for most other sports.
Did you run competitively in high school? Technically yes, but to say I was "competitive" is laughable.
Did you run competitively in college? No.
When / why did you join SRR? November 2004 (although it took me a few months to actually participate). I realized I needed to work out more consistently when I could barely fit into my fat jeans. And I figured, while I'm at it I might as well try and qualify for Boston. As far as SRR, I chose it because it had the best website.
Total number races: 6
Favorite race (and why): New Bedford Half Marathon, because of the chowder and fish sandwiches.
Favorite race distance: Half marathon? I'm too inexperienced to say.
Favorite runner: I have no clue.
Favorite running shoe: Asics Gel-Landreth, Brooks Radius
Average miles per week: 35
Average MPW ever: About 50 (this only happened once, and only because I got lost in the woods while trail running).
Best running memory: I'm always so astonished/ecstatic that I finished a race in one piece (see below), that every successive finish surpasses my previous as my best running memory (seriously — I'm not just trying to sound profound).
Worst running memory: There's always a point in every race where I don't want to go on and I feel like I'm going to keel over and die at any moment.
