How long have you been running? Since I was fifteen years old
What made you decide to begin running? I wanted to get outside and stay in shape.
Did you run competitively in high school? No. While I played tennis competitively, I just ran on my own for fun.
Did you run competitively in college? No, although I ran to stay in shape and ran races on my own.
When / why did you join SRR? I joined in January 2006. I moved back to Boston from New York City and the running scene in New York is fabulous. There are lots of races there and lots of opportunities to meet people. I've really missed that! SRR seems to have a nice spirit to it and I thought it would be a good way to meet people with similar interests. I've practically carved a ridge in the sidewalk around the Charles River with all my running around that route. I would love to share some miles with likeminded, fun people.
Total number races: Probably around 75 including nine marathons and one ironman triathlon.
Favorite race (and why): Ironman Lake Placid--was just one of the coolest things I've done (probably because I really didn't know if I could do it).
Favorite race distance: marathon or half-marathon
Favorite runner: Stephen Dragoni
Favorite running shoe: Saucony
Average miles per week: about 30-40
Most MPW Ever: about 70
Best running memory: Breaking four hours at the New York City marathon in 2003.
Worst running memory: Don't really have any. It's like that slogan: "A bad day of running is better than a good day at the office."
