SRR Paid Member Benefits

Somerville Road Runners is one of the largest running clubs in the Greater Boston area, with members from towns all across Massachusetts and New England.

We hope you’ll become an official member to support all of the amazing work the club does to support local running and give back to our community.

(And if you’re already an official member — hey, welcome to the club!)

Here are some quick tips on how to get the most from your SRR Membership:

Come to Weekly Runs!

SRR hosts (at least) 7 weekly runs every week, leaving from various points in Somerville and surrounding towns. In addition to our long-standing fun runs, make sure to check out Tuesday track workouts with Coach Joe O’Leary and connect with your pace group(s) for weekend long runs.

Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, a speed demon or a slow-and-steady runner, you’ll find great people to run with. (And hey, you’re a member now, so if you want even more options, start up a new group run!)

Stay connected

If you’re not already on our email list, it’s time to get on that. That’s where you’ll learn about all the fun running and non-running stuff that’s going on in the club.

Also, make sure to check out the weekend long runs list to find the pace group(s) that are right for you. It's okay (and fun) to run with more than one group. Email the group coordinators to get added to the email list for each pace group.

Add the SRR Calendar to your Google Calendars to make it easy to keep track of upcoming events. (Or just view the calendar here.)

We also recommend joining the SRR Strava Club and Facebook Group, and following SRR on Instagram.

Show your SRR Pride

Be honest, part of the reason you joined SRR is that you know you’d look amazing in black and yellow. Check out the merch store to grab a sweet SRR hat, headband, singlet, hoodie, or whatever else grabs your eye.

Race with US!

SRR is proud to participate in races throughout the Greater Boston and New England areas both individually and as a team, including the USATF-New England Grand Prix race series and the Mill Cities Relay.

There’s something about wearing that iconic black and yellow SRR singlet that just makes you run a little faster. But if you’re slightly slower than Kipchoge, don’t fret… You help Team SRR just by showing up, and members of all ages and paces are encouraged to join in!

SRR also provides members complimentary race entries for certain races, so make sure you’re on our email list for updates.

GET MEMBER PERKS

SRR Members get discounts at many local running gear shops. Check out the latest list of member discounts to save some $$$ on running gear.

Get Involved

SRR members support each other and give back to the local community by hosting get-togethers, setting up cheer stations at local races, volunteering at races and community events, hosting a free kids’ program, awarding scholarships, and organizing big annual events like the 26x1 relay and the Gobble turkey trot that are tons of fun and donate thousands of dollars (!) to local charities. We need your help to make all this good stuff happen!

Attending SRR board meetings (the first Monday of each month) is a great way to find out how to get more involved on your terms. We're an all-volunteer organization, so we encourage you to show up, make your voice heard, and be the change you want to see in the club!

To learn more about upcoming volunteer opportunities, contact our volunteer coordinators at volunteer@srr.org to find out how you can help.
