SAVE THE DATE - The 2025 Mill Cities Relay (https://millcitiesrelay.com/), the annual club championships, will be happening on December 7th! Join Team SRR for the 42th edition of the race, which is the longest running relay race east of the Rocky Mountains!
What is the Mill Cities Relay?
Mill Cities is a 5-leg, 27 mile relay race that happens every year in early December, with running clubs from all over New England!
The legs range from 2.5 miles to about 10 miles, so there's a distance for everybody!
SRR members can run on a fun team or on a competitive team. Competitive teams are organized based on the relay's divisions. SRR will field teams in as many divisions as we can!
There's a fun after-party where we celebrate after the race, and watch the award ceremony! I guarantee it will be the most excited you'll ever be about a pile of bricks.
When is it?
This year's race will be on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 8am.
Where is it?
The first leg of the relay starts in Nashua, NH and the last leg finishes in Lawrence, MA, with an after party and awards ceremony at Salvatore's Italian Restaurant! Who can say no to soup, pasta, salad, and more??
How much does it cost?
This race is FREE for SRR club members! You know what I always say - if it's free, it's for me!

Who's going to be on my team?
SRR will assign you to a 5-person* team--let us know on the sign up form if you want to be on a competitive team for your division, or prefer to run for fun!
If you have any running buddies that you want to team up with, let us know! Mill Cities is also a great way to make friends if you are new to SRR!
*The veterans (60+), super veterans (70+), and elder (80+) divisions, with the exception of the men's and coed veterans, only have 3 runners. These divisions will start at 8:00am from the start and run the first three legs, ending at the Bellegrade Boathouse (no more long leg for the three person teams).
As always, we especially need folks over the age of 50 to run! Having teams in the 50+ divisions greatly helps the club with points towards the club championship.
When do I find out who's on my team?
Sign up by Sunday, November 23 to guarantee a spot--we'll be announcing teams the week of Thanksgiving.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! SRR will be assigned a course marshal volunteering slot along the last leg of the course, and potentially other volunteer spots. Course marshals stand on the course to help ensure both cars and runners navigate the road safely. Mill Cities is a 100% volunteer driven event, and all clubs pitch in. Volunteer times and assignments will be sent out to SRR members the week before the event. If you are running, you can also volunteer!
