Every Monday evening at 6:45pm, warm or cold, rain or shine, you’ll find dozens of runners gathering in Kenney Park in Davis Square to take part in the Bur-Run, a casual, fun, 3 mile group run around the Davis Square area in Somerville that is free and open to all.

Come join us! There will be folks running everywhere from 12 min+ miles to 7 min / mile and faster, so you’re sure to find people to run with. (Read on for more details below.)

The Bur-Run, Monday nights at 6:45pm in Kenney Park, Davis Square. Come for the fun 3 mile run, stay for the (summer) post-run ice pops…

The Course

Course on Strava

The Bur-run starts at Kenney Park in Davis Square and heads up Summer St, left onto Central St, left onto Medford St, left onto Broadway, left onto Cedar St and a final right onto the bike path. Look for the big neon yellow diamond shaped bike and pedestrian signs. Follow the bike path to the parking lot, turn left into the Rite Aid parking lot, and then cross the street, ending up back in Kinney Park where we started. Watch out for pedestrians, bikers, strollers, kids and dogs.

This is an open course. In other words, there is no traffic control, and we will be running either against traffic or on sidewalks at all times. All participants must wear some sort of reflective gear. This is not an officially timed run.

Meeting Up

Runners meet at Kenney Park in Davis Square between 6:45 and 6:50pm. There is no gear storage available at Kenney Park. After the run we are welcomed in the front bar or sidewalk tables (weather permitting) at the Burren to eat and drink as long as we like (at each individual's expense).

Parking / Getting Here

If you plan to drive to Davis Square, you can find both street parking and lots. Remember, meters are in effect until 8pm, so bring your quarters (one quarter = 15 minutes).

If you take the T, both Kenney Park and the Burren are a short walk from Davis Square on the Red Line.
